Q: IS SCHOOL MANDATORY?

A: Yes, to be employable an apprentice must attend the BAC 3 JATEC program classes as required. Attendance, therefore is mandatory.

Q: WHAT ARE WORK RECORD BOOKS?

A: Work Record Books are On-The-Job training records that apprentices must complete and submit on a monthly basis. Failure to submit monthly work record books may result in cancellation from the apprenticeship program.

Q: WHAT TIME DOES CLASSES BEGIN?

A:  MDC school hours begin at 7:00 AM and end at 3:30 PM.

Q: WHAT DAYS ARE CLASSES HELD?

A: Classes are held Monday through Friday, no classes during Holiday weeks.

Q: WHEN ARE WORK RECORD BOOKS DUE?

A: Work Record Books are to be turned in every month and are due before the 15th of each month. Work Record Books can be submitted electronically, mailed, faxed, or emailed to the Apprenticeship office.

Q: DO I HAVE TO TURN IN A WORK RECORD BOOK WHEN I AM NOT WORKING?

A: Yes, you must continue to submit monthly work record books during the time that you’re unemployed.

Q: OUT OF WORK LIST?

A: Contact the Local 3 union office every Monday to be put on the out work list (800) 281 8781.

Q: HOW CAN I APPLY FOR APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM?

A: Applicants must apply in person at the Mason Development Center from 8:30 am to 11:30 am. Please bring your driver license/or photo ID, social security card and any relevant certificates. For more information please call the Apprenticeship office at (209)-830-7200. You can only apply for one trade. Please choose carefully.
